Community groups are the space where the big Church is made small and the Gospel is put on display in the everyday, ordinariness of life. This requires intentionality, intentionality to pursue Gospel centered relationships with other Christ followers, that others may hear and be transformed by the power of the Gospel. If we are to become a smaller Church then we need faithful believers who are willing to partner with us in leading community groups. Our tech team consists of dedicated men and women who serve together to help create a distraction-free environment of worship by providing quality technical elements during both weekend services and studies throughout the week. We work together to make both the musicians on-stage and those who teach visible to everyone and able to be heard clearly. In order to accomplish this, we have a variety of roles, from operating a camera or light board, using a computer and video equipment to display song lyrics, to running sound equipment. Many on the team are those who simply saw a need and jumped in to serve, having no prior experience. At Fellowship Greenville, we believe that worship should be a time to reflect God, and the people up front should not be the focus, as we pause to reflect on the truths we’ve learned about Jesus and give him our full attention through music. That’s why we call it Participatory Worship. Nevertheless, making that excellent every Sunday requires a dedicated team of gifted musicians, vocalists, and sound techs. Everyone encounters trials and hardships that God never intended for us to navigate alone. And not everyone needs a pastor or professional counselor in these times—often a caring friend is all it takes to make it through life’s challenging times. Other folks may not be hurting, but may simply need a strong back—like seniors who can no longer clean their gutters or rake leaves. As Fellowship Greenville grows, so does our need for assistance with setting up and tearing down tables and chairs in our ministry spaces. These transitions sometimes happen several times per week and are critical to the success of ministry events. We're building a team of volunteers who desire to help our growing ministry through physical labor. The team is notified about an upcoming weekend or weekday opportunity to serve and can make that commitment as their schedule allows.
